Best Value in home phone serviceOverall Rating: By: Richard Rose on Friday, November 10, 2006From: Abilene, TX (United States) Experience: 3 Months Pros: Easy to sign up and save money on local service.Cons: Too many fees on billing statement! The federal and state mandated fees are ridiculous...makes the statement look bad.Summary: Overall pleased,(so far), with the service and savings. In today's internet and cell phone world it's tempting to disconnect the land line. Thanks for making an affordable product available for home phone service. 12 out of 21 people found this review helpful
PNG Call To Connect Simple service planOverall Rating: By: Rajat Choudhary on Monday, June 05, 2006From: North Brunswick, NJ (United States) Experience: 4 Months Pros: - Very Economical - No hidden cost as charged by other monster companies like Verizon, ATTCons: NoneSummary: I am very happy with the service provided by this company. Their plans are cheap. For the plan that I currently have, I was paying roughly $40.00/month (inclusive of taxes) whereas now it's only $27.00/month with PNG. 9 out of 21 people found this review helpful
Can't even connect meOverall Rating: By: Scott Bonham on Friday, June 10, 2005From: Bowling Green, KY (United States) Experience: 2 Months Pros: Good ratesCons: Incompotent company. Long waits on customer service line, promised refunds don't show up, and charged me for service that they didn't provideSummary: I tried twice to switch local service over to them and they never could do it. Finally they told me they don't provide service in my area--after charging me over $90 for service they can't provide. Twice customer service (after very long waits) told me my account was credited for those charges, which were still there on next bill. Maybe they need to raise their rates just a bit so they can afford a company-wide communication system. 16 out of 27 people found this review helpful
Total costOverall Rating: By: John Misch on Wednesday, March 30, 2005From: Mentor, (United States) Summary: Before signing on I asked if the rate was all inclusive - There are same adders - taxes / fees - when you get to the bottom line - it is pretty close to what I had to begin with - John 15 out of 32 people found this review helpful
Good Quality Lines, Lousy ServiceOverall Rating: By: SR on Monday, January 17, 2005From: Rockland County, NY, (United States) Summary: Line quality is fine - same as Verizon. Regular customer service is neither knowledgeable nor helpful. I had to submit a Public Service Commission complaint in order to get them to refund an incorrect charge. Their Problem-Solving Group is more knowledgeable and helpful than regular customer service. 15 out of 26 people found this review helpful
Where is it?Overall Rating: By: Jane Gast on Tuesday, January 11, 2005From: Spring City, (United States) Summary: I ordered Power Net phone service early this fall and received a confirming e-mail, which I responded to as instructed. Our next phone bill suggested that we had not been switched over, so I called and was told there had been a problem, but they would take care of it. It's now several months later and nothing has happened. Unfortunately I can't rate the service until I actually have it. At this point I wonder if I want to switch if Power Net is that bad at taking on new customers. 19 out of 33 people found this review helpful
Decent Phone Service, Lousy Customer ServiceOverall Rating: By: Shais Rosenblatt on Friday, December 03, 2004From: Spring Valley, NY, (United States) Summary: The line quality is fine -- the same as Verizon. When I first signed up, PNG didn't set up my regional calling correctly. It took them 3 days to fix it. The regular Customer Service department usually answers within 2 or 3 minutes, but they are not very professional, and they can't provide any help with setting up services or problems with the phone line. For setting up services or problems with the phone line, you have to call their Troubleshooting Department. It usually takes them 3 to 5 minutes to answer. They are somewhat more professional than the regular CS department. 24 out of 35 people found this review helpful
