Three of the heaviest heavyweights take center stage in part two of this PhoneDog Dogfight. In this corner - the iconic iPhone 3G. In that corner - the "Windows Mobile with a cherry on top" HTC Touch Diamond. And in, uh, that corner - the super-spec'd Samsung Omnia. Whose cuisine will reign supreme?

Saturday, August 30, 2008I really LOVE the specs on the Onnia, do you think that Sprint will pick it up???

Friday, August 29, 2008They have ROM updates for the Diamond which are said to increase performance by a noticeable margin. You can find them easily via Google and even find videos showing the difference. My question is: Will the next video have this install on the Diamond, or is it going to feature the Sprint version which is also supposed to be an improvement on the responsiveness (is that a word?) of the touchscreen?

1/7/2009 5:31:01 PMHe did say that Omnia is like a powerful car. If you don't know how to drive it, you get less from it. "complex& boring" may be exactly what some one wants. Honestly, I like it and its the only one available for Verizon(I think) Anyways, this is just starting to become like the console war, where everyone is trying to one up the other. I'm going with the Omnia because their carrier is the best one where I live. But, I hate Windows Mobile, and would drop it in an instant for a Linux smart phone.

1/4/2009 5:37:52 PMHonestly Samsung's and LG's smart phone are shit. the touch feeling is always slow,it is not a smooth and interface is too complex& boring i prefer Iphone,HTC's diamond,SonyEricsson's Xperia,Blackerry's Smart phone Don't waste your money at Samsung,LG's smart phone p.s Samsung's smartphone there is no 3.5mm jack for headphone

1/2/2009 4:51:17 PMcan someone tell me a good youtube player for Omnia, without me having to hack or change any ROM. help would be much apreciated.

1/1/2009 6:48:12 PMhmmm...the htc diamond outscores the others in terms of performance and size, but it's main disadvantage is that it has youtube reviews held by people who don't even know how to use it ;)

1/1/2009 6:00:28 AMhtc did a great job to customize the whole unbearable wm6 interface, whereas u can c omnia in cetain level still stick to the old "inconvenient thumb-wise" pocketpc like interface. credits should gave to those who really work hard.

12/31/2008 1:57:59 PMAnd the plan, which is pretty much more than any other cell phone in the world, so in three months you end up paying more than you would have on the original.

12/31/2008 2:40:53 AMYea but the additional data plan is like $50 on top of that $200 or $300 dont get me wrong the omnia is the same way but if you think about it the 16gb is cheaper seeing as how you can get a 8gb memory card for like $40

12/29/2008 7:36:51 AMYou are right most people don't know what's the difference between a normal phone and a PDA. And people get tricked by the looks and the touch scrolling flick scrolling slide to unlock blah blah. They have no idea how a PDA will be helpful in many areas . (other than music)

12/24/2008 10:15:00 PMiPhone 8 GB 199$ 16 GB 299 $ thats prety cheap iPhone rocks

12/24/2008 8:26:55 AMiPhone is so limited and plus the crazy price for the PHONE and the plan.
SuperRandom12
12/23/2008 7:03:47 PMlemme tell u something iphone geeks....for the price omnia and htc is way better. u might say but iphone is $200 only, but its WITH CONTRACT and the requirement of getting that certain data plan. with those 2 in the equation. if u were to buy an omnia or htc diamond it would be much cheaper. so for the quality of the phone compared to the price, htc diamond and omnia are way better. and btw wm 6.1 is way more flexible that the iphone operating system.
roops22
12/22/2008 5:48:04 PMomnia is better than the iphone. you i phone queers get over yourself..
