What’s Good: Attractive, highly customizable UI with home screen shortcuts; Compact design with high-res touchscreen; HTML Web browser and Email app with EV-DO Rev A support; VCAST Music and Video Support; Rhapsody streaming music support; 3.2 MP camera with flash and VGA video capture; 3.5mm headphone jack; Accelerometer and proximity sensor

What’s Not Good: “Full HTML” Web browser is mildly disappointing; Touchscreen can take a bit of getting used to; No VCAST TV support

Bottom Line: Dare is the best multimedia phone Verizon currently offers and the best cameraphone they’ve ever offered.  It may well be the best cameraphone available from any US carrier right now, as well.  Though the touchscreen is smaller than those of its competitors (iPhone, Instinct, and Vu come to mind), it’s bright, clear, and relatively responsive.  If you don’t need QWERTY or VCAST TV, Dare is the best feature phone on VZW, and arguably the best media-rich handset currently available on a US carrier.

Specs:
Make/Model: LG Dare
Network: CDMA 850 / 1900
Data: 1x EV-DO Rev. A (3G)
Carrier: Verizon Wireless
Size: 104 x 56 x 13 mm
Weight: 107 g
Form Factor: Candybar with Full Touchscreen
Display: 3.0” Color LCD, 240 x 400 resolution, 262,000 Colors
Memory:  200MB Internal Memory, microSD card slot
Notable Features: Full touchscreen; Virtual QWERTY/T9 and handwriting recognition; 3.2MP camera with flash; VGA video capture with slo-mo up to 120 fps; HTML Web browser; VCAST Video and Music Support; Rhapsody streaming music support; GPS with VZ Navigator software

Sunday, November 23, 2008This phone is a decent phone. I much rather still have my ENVY 2 because of the texting. The keyboard is the biggest piece of garbage on the Dare.

Wednesday, November 19, 2008i had the Dare for a few months now. it's okay but it randomly resets and freeze when checking email and vcast music. i love the unlimited music with rhapsody. Internet is okay and faster than my voyager. camera is really good but it drains my battery. i prefer the keyboard than T9. sucks that it doesn't have Vcast Mobile T.V.

Sunday, November 02, 2008Hey chicken nuggets, my sister has this phone with that plan. It's an ok phone i tried texting on it, the t9 is really good, but the full keyboard is only OK. Web browser is OK and its cool u can customize the home screen. The camera is really good and clear. But you should wait for the Blackberry storm or maybe get the voyager. Search the blackberry storm, its pretty sick

Sunday, November 02, 2008I just bought the lg dare and i absolutely love it. Its responsive and i can watch youtube without fail and with texting and the web you can turn your Dare veritcally or sideways and the screen will follow so you can view it. I turn it sideways becuz the screen looks bigger. The picture is great and the fps is not in now buggy or stuttering like its loading over and over. I recommend this phone to anyone who wants a touch with html web without having to pay out the earhole, peehole or A-hole.

Saturday, November 01, 2008Yeah i am getting a new phone this week, and i am stuck between the moto krave or the this phone the LG dare. I am leaning towards the krave cause i am all a crazy texter, and i am not sure if the dare is worth the 50 bucks more, or if i am willing to pay. So any suggestions which is better?

Tuesday, October 28, 2008i am stuck right now between the LG Dare and the verizon Blitz. My uncle has the Dare and i like the look and feel of it but the texting seemed like it would take a bit of time to get used to. The only reason why i am stuck between the two is because my upgrade isn't due until December of 2009 and i'm not sure if i want to wait that long because my phone now is already beat up. If i do wait i will probably get the dare but thats now and by next december a new phone will have come out that i would like so i wouldn't want the Dare any more. So i would like to get a month to month plan with my new phone but the dare costs $410 and the Blitz only costs $240. Should i wait and see what happens or just get the Blitz now?

Thursday, October 09, 2008I am looking at potential phones and I am really impressed with the LG Dare. Just recently I saw news about a touchscreen Blackberry coming out soon that looks very ineresting. I would like to see an in depth comparason of these 2 phones just so I know that I am getting the best one.

Thursday, September 11, 2008I love this phone, I personally think it's far superior to the Instinct, and let's face it, Sprint's customer service is terrible. I was with them for 2 years and never again. Verizon is much better with consumers and you don't HAVE to buy a super expensive plan like you do with Sprint.

Wednesday, September 10, 2008if you hold the phone horizontally then you can text like you would on a regular cell phone which is very easy but if you tap to the side of the letters in landscape mode you can hit the letters easie i learned that from one of noah's great reviews
