HorribleOverall Rating: By: a o on Thursday, November 08, 2007From: boston, MA (United States) Experience: 6 Months Pros: Great designCons: Flawed modelSummary: I loved this phone except for the fact that it stoped working a few months after purchase. Had it replaced twice under warranty and both times the brand new phone just stopped working randomly on its own. Screen goes white and after a few days goes black and is non responsive. AT&T/Cingular stores did not take it back and it had to be exchanged online. As a matter of fact a store rep told me that this model is known to have problems and that is the reason it is only sold online. Do not get this phone, it will break too soon too sudden. 11 out of 18 people found this review helpful
Good battery life, unreliable software, camera button is crazyOverall Rating: By: David Elliston on Thursday, October 25, 2007From: Palo Alto, CA (United States) Experience: 2 Years Pros: The battery life is impressive. Usually pairs with my Bluetooth headset. Cons: Software crashes too often. Does not always ring when receiving a call. Camera takes pictures of my pocket.Summary: I like the phone when it works, which is most of the time. The battery life is good. However, the software crashes pretty often -- generally when taking a call or when sending a text message. And, the phone often decides not to ring, so I miss calls. The external camera button is very sensitive, resulting in dozens of pictures of my pocket. Disabling it is possible; check the internet. 10 out of 20 people found this review helpful
stinksOverall Rating: By: Nick Soapes on Wednesday, February 14, 2007From: Harrison, AR (United States) Experience: 10 Months Pros: lots of features, voice activated calling, camera/video phone, web browser, mp3 ringtonesCons: not a durable phone, difficult interface when compared to my motorola 720...Summary: This phone is horrible!!! The first problem I had with it was taking pictures of the inside of my pocket. I read the entire manual and found nothing about a key lock on the phone to keep this problem from happening. Cingular couldn't help me figure out how to fix the problem either. I tried to take it back...but it was past my 30 day trial. Now the speaker and microphone cut out...not on every call, just every once-in-a-while. This phone stinks. I have been upset with it for along time and am just waiting for it to die so I can make an insurance claim and get a different phone. DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE!!! 31 out of 59 people found this review helpful

Great phone....HUGE problemsOverall Rating: By: Courtney Bailey on Tuesday, October 10, 2006From: Durham, NC (United States) Experience: 3 Months Pros: a lot of different features including video camera and bluetooth, can record own ringtones and conversations. Extremely long battery life. good call quality. extra features are easy to find. Cons: Breaks extremely easy. pictures from camera can come out grainy. Summary: I got my phone before I came back to school in August. I had it maybe two months and it started acting crazy. Eventually it just cut off on me. I tried to turn it on, it would stay on for about 10 minutes just for it to cut off again, and when it did stay on long enough for me to make a phone call, it would sound like a static running through the phone even when I had a good signal. I got the phone replace through my insurance. I had the new phone for two WEEKS and I started having problems with it. I recieved a call one day and my phone was fine. I hung it up and my screen went white, (I didn't really think about it because sometimes it does that.) That is until the screen stayed white even after I cut it off then cut it back on.. Eventually the screen just went dark and now you can't tell if my phone is even on if you just looked at it. I can still make calls , but what the point of all the neat little features if I can't use them.I can't even use my caller Id and my contact list, which were my favorites on the phone. I love the phone. I love the features and I don't really want to get something different, but I don't want to get another phone of this model for it break on its own again. 44 out of 84 people found this review helpful
Sony Ericsson z520aOverall Rating: By: Dannie Kim on Sunday, September 24, 2006From: Houston, TX (United States) Experience: 5 Months Pros: call quality, customizable ringtones, external screen, bluetooth, "calls" list accessible from main screen, out-of-the-way internet button--prevents you from accidentally connecting to costly services Cons: no send/end buttons, no way to change timeout on internal display, speaker on back side, battery cover difficult to remove Summary: I have very much enjoyed using my T610 for years (via T-Mobile US), but I wanted to upgrade to better PIM support. After a great deal of searching and review reading, I picked this phone for features and value. I use the bluetooth every day (the IR only occasionally), and I've been able to retire my shaky T3 (sorry Palm) entirely. I had only a small hiccup setting this up for T-Mobile (unsupported), and the ease of use is FANTASTIC. Not the phone for everyone, but if you want your phone to take over PIM duties, offer good WAN browsing, news, email, and messaging (as well as very decent still and video cameras), this is an EXCELLENT value. As for the phone calls, the speaker is very good, and I get clear reception. If you really want to listen to music on your phone and not your iPod, this isn't the phone for you (no storage expansion). If you just want to make phone calls, this may be too much phone for you (too many goodies). In comparison to the T610 in the same usage area, there is slightly more tendency to get drop outs. 44 out of 71 people found this review helpful

Great Phone, Full of FeaturesOverall Rating: By: mike Jezierski on Friday, August 25, 2006From: Benton, AR (United States) Experience: 99 Days Pros: Video Camera, Ease of File Transfer via Bluetooth, and battery life is exceptional.Cons: poor quality still camera. only 2x magnification, not 4x as described on camera.Summary: Great overall phone for people who want a cell phone, but only a few extras. This phone has great reception in rural areas, but lacks in the image quality department. File transfering via bluetooth is outstanding. 31 out of 55 people found this review helpful
Good PhoneOverall Rating: By: Dennis Picou on Wednesday, August 23, 2006From: Kirbyville, MO (United States) Experience: 90 Days Pros: lots of toys includedCons: bad camera and camera button can be turned on accidentllySummary: I like the size of this phone and most of the extras that were included. The Sony Erissson Z520a is a pretty nice phone, good sound, lots of ringtones included and some games to keep you occupied. The only downfall I have found is the camera it takes lousy pictures and video though the sound is pretty good. Overall it's a pretty good phone. 23 out of 47 people found this review helpful
Great Phone - Lots of gadgetsOverall Rating: By: jen eisele on Wednesday, August 16, 2006From: upland, CA (United States) Experience: 1 Years Pros: Bluetooth friendly - can be synced up to any bluetooth based technology... Loves the Ibook. Pic and video, speakerphone, games and musicCons: poor receptionSummary: The SonyEricsson Z520a is a good phone with fair pic and video quality (for a phone...), but the reception issues in having the antenna built into the place you put your hand when using is very annoying. If you plan on using your Bluetooth, this is a great item. 27 out of 37 people found this review helpful
Best phone I've ever had!Overall Rating: By: Brett Ratliff on Sunday, August 13, 2006From: lincoln park, MI (United States) Experience: 60 Days Pros: It has a camera feature. All the messenging services you need. It comes with 4 games and many programs that are easy to use and has a lightup funtion around the keypad.Cons: Its backlight doesn't stay on for very long.Summary: This has been the best phone I've have ever used. It has never caused me any problems and for the price, it's really good! It comes with loads of features and they did a really good job in the design. It allows for changing the faceplate and back for your own personal color preference. 24 out of 43 people found this review helpful
Sony Ericsson 520aOverall Rating: By: Tabitha Rich on Thursday, August 10, 2006From: Stilwell, OK (United States) Experience: 6 Months Pros: Phone is very light and easy to use. It has all of the necessary key features and lots of extras.Cons: External camera button is a pain because I am always taking pictures of the inside of my pocket or purse that I have to delete. The speaker phone feature is useless because you have to leave the phone open. There is absolutely no way to close the phone and keep talking. I have been unable to find a replacement charger in common places like Target and Wal-Mart, this is very inconvenient if you forget your charger on a long trip.Summary: Overall I love the phone and it is hands down a better phone than the Razor. 7 out of 21 people found this review helpful
