I miss my music

Overall Rating:
3.8 out of 5
By: Darryl Gee on Wednesday, September 24, 2008

Pros: The qwerty keyboard makes texting easier. Also Kudos on bringing the chat texting feature to this phone. QWERTY makes texting easy. GPS nice to have.

Cons: Does not allow instant downloads from the sprint music store. GPS drains the battery - fasst. Phone is big and doesn't look stylish. Voice quality not as good as other Palms I've owned.

Summary: My gf got me this phone for my birthday. I had the HTC Touch and it significantly slowed down my texting. The QWERTY on the 800 is great to have. also the GPS is cool but drains the battery.

Loved my treo 650

Overall Rating:
4.5 out of 5
By: Frank Yang on Friday, March 02, 2007
From: Boyds, MD (United States)
Experience: 2 Years
Pros: Excellent form factor;
Long battery life;
Fully sync with MS outlook (calenda, contacts, emails, tasks, etc.)
View/Edit MS Word and Excel files

Cons: Speakerphone is so so.
Microphone -- The other side can barely hear me. This is a known issue with treo 650. I have to use bluetooth headset or earphone to bypass the internal mic issue.

Summary: This is my first Palm OS device.
I have been a Windows CE fans for many years, and have had multiple IPAQs and Microsoft smartphones. I am a Windows programmer and was hesitating to switch to Palm device (thought Palm OS was not as sophisticated as Windows) at the beginning, but I am very happy with the features of my treo 650. Palm OS consumes much less battery power than Windows OS.

Volume issue

Overall Rating:
4.3 out of 5
By: Roger Houthoofd on Thursday, December 14, 2006
From: Howell, MI (United States)
Experience: 90 Days
Pros: Intergrated Palm with Phone
Manual Switch for Speaker

Cons: Not Loud enough

Summary: The volume only reaches a normal volume.
Very hard or impossible to hear with surrounding noisy environments.
Somewhat improved with the use of a ear piece.
This is the first phone I have had that I couldn't turn it up to hear in a crowd.
Other than that problem, though, it is a great in every other way.

Great Phone

Overall Rating:
4.7 out of 5

Pros: Substantial phone feel. Palm os has many applications that can be added. Internet capable. Nice size screen and great sound. On and off sound switch so you don't have to go into your settings to adjust. Great ring tones. Secure digital card slot.

Cons: none!

Summary: This is a great phone and I wouldn't trade it for any other. I have the internet on it with some internet programs like Avant Go and MobiMate. You can adjust the font size for easy reading. Lots of programs can be added. Photos are easy to take and are unexpectedly good. Takes movies too! I absolutely LOVE it!

Awesomephone

Overall Rating:
5 out of 5
By: Amit Kurich on Monday, September 25, 2006
From: San Jose, CA (United States)
Experience: 90 Days
Pros: Awesome features like camera, Camcorder, PDA, BlueTooth

Cons: Cost

Summary: Treo 650 is an awesome phone with features like PDA (Diary), Camera, Camcorder, Fast internet browser and awesome handsfree speaker apart from the fact that its bluetooth enabled. Voice quality is amazing and the internet browser is really fast. You can also check your email on the phone. The camcorder and the camera is pretty good though they cant beat the original 5 MP but for immediate need , it would do. SD memory card can help increase the number of photos you can save. Its expensive and with 700P and 700W coming in, the 650 maynot be there for long!!! but it still is a very nice phone and i love mine.

Don't waste your time or money!!!

Overall Rating:
1.5 out of 5
By: Pk Francis on Friday, August 18, 2006
From: Dallas, TX (United States)
Experience: 1 Years
Pros: It would be great if this phone actually worked and did all that it claims to do but it doesn't!

Cons: This phone has too many problems to even list!
I was told they were fixing all of the issues with the next newest version 700! Wrong!
I was one of the idiots who paid $650.00 for this phone when it was new including getting new service! So if your wondering why they have come down so far in price go search out other reviews and it will be obvious!

Summary: I have had this phone for 1 1/2 years and I have had 16 phones replaced by Sprint from the time I bought it. Replacing the phone when it breaks down has become my part time job! (unpaid of course!) There is a class action lawsuit filed for all Treo owners that is much over due!
I can't tell you what a nightmare this phone has been for me!

Review of Treo 650

Overall Rating:
4.5 out of 5
By: Kevin Grieger on Sunday, August 06, 2006
From: Needville, TX (United States)
Experience: 11 Months
Pros: Excellent battery life,
Touchscreen allows for easier navigation of menus,
Palm OS is easy to use,
Instant access to internet

Cons: No Wifi,
Slightly less signal reception,
Not easy to type in numbers,
640x480 Camera

Summary: There are not many phones that I like currently on the market. However, this phone is nice. If you like to surf the web, it is excellent. Blazer is a decent browser that comes with the phone. There are other browsers for this phone, but I have not seen any that i like.
The Palm OS is great for organizing and scheduling, and because it is so popular, many programs have been made for this phone.
The treo 650 is also very durable. I have dropped mine several times and it still works fine.
Some people complain about the touchscreen, but it is one of the best features of this phone. Occasionally you will accidentally hang up on someone, but this is rare.
The camera on this phone may not be the best on the market, but I have taken hundreds of pictures on this phone and i haven't filled my SD card up yet.
In Conclusion, this is a great phone with some minor drawbacks. The 700W is out now(its successor), but I would much rather keep the 650 because of its simplicity.

Great Device

Overall Rating:
3.8 out of 5
By: Amanda Tool on Friday, December 23, 2005
From: Fort Meyers, FL (United States)
Experience: 3 Months
Pros: Clear screen and speaker, to do list, reminders, and good design.

Cons: None that I have come across yet.

Summary: The PalmOne Treo 650 is the best PDA/phone I've spent money on. The speaker works great, everyone can hear me, and the earpiece itself fits very comfortable in my ear. The sound is so good that when I'm in the movie theater or even watching a game people can still hear me well. Having this PDA is better than having an additional palm computer. This device is wonderful. It keeps all of my records that I need for work and the display is great. It even lets me have individual folders to keep notes and reminders for my wife and my mistress so that I know when I'm meeting who, and what I need to bring, or what we'll be doing. This device keeps me productive, what with all the buttons and cool screen and stuff. A real captain of industry.

Cell Phone and PDA in One!

Overall Rating:
3.7 out of 5
By: Brandon Lincoln on Friday, December 23, 2005
From: New York, NY (United States)
Experience: 6 Months
Pros: Great screen, comfortable keyboard, good picture and video quality.

Cons: Sometimes I get complaints about the clarity from people I am calling.

Summary: I love this PalmOne Treo 650 phone. I've had a regular Palm before and it is so clunky to carry around. But to have it integrated with your cell phone is the best. I love the quality of the pictures. The screen's quality is an envy as well as all my friends. I'm always taking pictures and using the camcorder feature. Text messaging is easy with the keypad. The web browser is great although at times I have had it freeze up. Contacts are easy to use along with picture ID. The call quality to me is fine although I do have complaints from the people I call when I don't use my headset. There are too many features to talk about so I will say this, if my service were ever shut off I would still use it as a cool and compact PDA.

Cool phone ... but poor sound

Overall Rating:
3 out of 5
By: Mike on Sunday, September 25, 2005
From: Seattle, WA (United States)
Experience: 2 Years
Pros: Great features ... easy to use ... relatively small for all that you get. Now it is quite cheap with the 650 out.

Cons: The screen is not clear, the sound is not good compared to other cell phones, I get headaches after using it more than 20 minutes at a time.

Summary: Great phone with great features - but there is some room for improvement.

Treo 650 is great!

Overall Rating:
4.7 out of 5
By: Kelly on Wednesday, September 21, 2005
From: Seattle, WA (United States)
Experience: 6 Months
Pros: Significantly better picture quality than Treo 600. Syncs with home PCs Microsoft Outlook. Very user friendly. Plenty of memory. I like having the keypad and stylus. Easy set up for pop email accounts.

Cons: Keypad might be a bit small for people with large hands. It is not inexpensive.

Summary: The Treo 650 is perfect for someone that likes to have everything at their fingertips a majority of the time, whether it be their schedule, camera/pictures/video, email, contacts, etc with out being too bulky and having extra unneeded programs such as excel or word.
