![]() More bars?Overall Rating: By: Ralph Turner on Tuesday, August 05, 2008From: Moline, IL (United States) Experience: 5 Days Pros: Customer service very friendly.Cons: No service in many areas.Summary: Our Sprint contract expired at the end of July, we had OK connectivity with them but not great, so we started looking at other carriers. When we went to the AT&T store I fell in love with the iPhone 3G and had to have it. I excitedly took it home thinking I should have good connectivity as AT&T advertises "More Bars in More Places". Wrong, I could not get a signal in my home, only if I went outside. Out of curiosity I started driving around the city to see if it was just my area. I was very surprised to find many dead spots. So much for more bars (they must be talking about the alcoholic type). I hate to do it but I am taking my iPhone back and moving to Verizon. The iPhone was great, just not on the AT&T network. 2 out of 2 people found this review helpful
Not happyOverall Rating: By: anthony spadaccini on Monday, August 04, 2008From: myrtle beach, SC (United States) Experience: 4 Years Pros: Really nottingCons: Bad service. The customer support is a joke- NO-ONE has any idea what they are talking about. Plan prices are terribleSummary: I first went over when they were just cingular, everything was good, service was so much better, people that worked there had sense, everything was simple..Now, AT&T is an abosulute JOKE. The phones are average priced but the plans are so overpriced! An everything plan for sprint-99.99 $An everything plan for ATT- over 130$ thats just sad, and the customer support at the website is even worse, first you wait for 30 minutes, then when you get to someone there like retarted, i had a question on phone insurance i asked five people, everyone one managed to give me a different answer. 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful
Worst Retail Service Ever....AnywhereOverall Rating: By: Paul Robnett on Wednesday, July 02, 2008From: St. Louis, MO (United States) Experience: 4 Years Pros: I signed on with Cingular in Fall of '04 and my cellular service has been fine. No complaints.Cons: Minor issues with phone but taken care of (by Cingular).Summary: 3.5 years later, it's time to retire my poor old phone. I mistakenly made an assumption that my best bet was to go to an AT&T retail store. Bad idea. I'm on a family plan which my brother started. So, I'm not an "authorized user". Ok, no problem, I don't want to change the contract or even buy anything. All I want is info on phones. Simple enough right? Wrong! They treat me as if I am some kind of criminal or a leper. When I go to shop for (but not yet buy) a phone, they REFUSE to wait on me. What retailer has a policy to REFUSE SERVICE to a paying customer who wants to LOOK AT buying more products and services? AT&T that's who. The WORST service (or lack thereof) I've ever experienced. In fact, I'm going to suggest that it's not service at all, just ARROGANCE. As soon as I can escape from their evil clutches, I will. And I shall never return. 2 out of 3 people found this review helpful
Cell One is now AT&TOverall Rating: By: Angel Cathe on Monday, June 23, 2008From: Monroe, NY (United States) Experience: 2 Months Pros: Online account management is good.Cons: CoverageSummary: Since Cell One was bought by AT&T, the amount of bars on my phone has gone down. About 60% of the calls I make will not go through because "Network is not available". This is very frustrating. I hardly ever had this problem before (I've been a Cell One customer for over two years). 4 out of 4 people found this review helpful
NOT happyOverall Rating: By: Eric Buck on Wednesday, June 18, 2008From: San Diego, CA (United States) Experience: 2 Years Pros: roll over but that is even a jokeCons: coverage, data speeds. They say they have highspeed data but it is very spotty. Customer service is poor. Summary: Nothing good to say. 3 out of 3 people found this review helpful
AT&T StinksOverall Rating: By: Denise D on Wednesday, June 11, 2008From: Huntington Beach, CA (United States) Experience: 2 Years Pros: Absolutely NONECons: ZERO RECEPTIONSummary: I was with Cingular for several years and had relatively no troubles. Along came AT&T, promising better service - "more bars in more places". Turns out they must be talking about pubs, because ever since they took over Cingular, I can't make or receive calls unless I leave the county I live and work in. Tell me how that is 'better service'!! My contract is up shortly and I will not be renewing with them. I'd be without a cell phone before I'd go with them again. AT&T can kiss my... oops, call dropped!! 4 out of 4 people found this review helpful
Wouldn't recommendOverall Rating: By: Jennifer Ruppel on Monday, June 02, 2008From: Caledonia, WI (United States) Experience: 12 Years Pros: One of the best for pricing, but you're essentially paying for crappy service!Cons: Poor customer service, MOST dropped calls! Summary: I have been a Cingular customer for over 10 years. Their customer service has NEVER been able to help me with any issues. Now since they've merged with AT&T and supposedly have the fewest dropped calls (what a joke!), I can hardly get reception. In my house, there are a few specific locations I need to stand still in order to make or receive a call without losing it. When we visit family, I cannot ever count on having a signal. My contract with them is up and I am finally shopping for a better provider - TONIGHT!! 2 out of 2 people found this review helpful
AT&TOverall Rating: By: Jan Mayer on Tuesday, May 06, 2008From: St. Charles, MO (United States) Experience: 3 Years Pros: Great coverage, good deals on phones, great customer service and online help Cons: sometimes expensive, some plans could use improvementSummary: AT&T is the probably greatest wireless provider out there. I switched from T-mobile to Cingular about three years ago and have not had any problems with it so far. In some areas out in the country the signal is lost at certain places but that's the same with all carriers. Now that AT&T and Cingular have merged there is even more to expect from the company in the future. This company just keeps growing and now provides television and internet services as well. And good deals are available for joint plans. 0 out of 2 people found this review helpful
Many problems over the yearsOverall Rating: By: C Ballard on Monday, May 05, 2008From: Marietta, GA (United States) Experience: 5 Years Summary: We started out with AT&T before they were Cingular and didn't have any problems. Cingular took over and we still didn't have any problems until we had to complete the merge and the customer service was really poor. We have had issues ever since. Our coverage doesn't seem to be good in some places we are always having drop calls where we use to not. We had to extend our contact to add a line for our daughter and when it is up we are going to another carrier. 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful
AT&T/ Cingular is great!Overall Rating: By: Joanna Poli on Wednesday, April 30, 2008From: NJ, NJ (United States) Experience: 5 Years Pros: International Capability, Reception, no unexpected extended contracts!Cons: Not all areas had the fast 3G coverageSummary: Ive had at&t when they first started off with Cingular, Ive never had a problem with customer service helping me out. They gave great deals on phones and always try to do their best to help me out with something im not understanding or with new cellphones coming out. What ive come to find though is that authorized dealers are alittl bit too snobby and at corporate stores they know much more and helped me out alot faster and more efficiently! at&t will ALWAYS be my carrier! 1 out of 2 people found this review helpful
