Awesome Service

Overall Rating:
5 out of 5

Pros: Awesome Customer Service. I rarely have to call up the CS, but when I do, they are always willing to work with me. I have been with Alltel since 2005, and it is 200% better than T-Mobile. Since I live in a small town, it's hard to get good cell phone service, but it's absolutely perfect here and all the way to where I go. My father is a truck driver & says theres barely anywhere that the service is zero bars. Their prices are also a good deal, and they will always let you know of promotions.

Cons: Alltel stores are not conveiniently located! I have to drive an hour one-way to get to an actual store--if you have problems and are required to go to a STORE, NOT AN AGENT, it's a hassle! Also, the agents usually have old phones even after they have been discontinued.

Summary: I won't ever change to a different provider unless they let their service go down the drain. I'm happy with my service & after my (new) 2 year contract was done on Oct 26, I got to get a brand new phone at the "new-customer" promo price. They really take care of their customers.

Pros: Reliable service, great pricing, great coverage, love My Circle, awesome customer service on the phone, love the online access to billing.

Cons: Poor choice of phones sometimes. Retail stores sometimes have incompetent employees.

Summary: I have been with Alltel since 2001 and have had no issues with them. I do not plan on changing my cell service ever, unless things drastically change. I have always had a great experience with customer service on the phone. Some retail stores have horrible employees, but I just avoid the ones that I have found are like that and deal with most of my issues on the phone. I love Alltel Online access. It is great.

Rebates lost and promises never met.

Overall Rating:
2 out of 5

Pros: None

Cons: We spent good money on Balckberry phones with rebates. We waited for the rebates and when I checked on them, they stated we don't have any on file for you. I have contacted many people who also use them and they also had the same problem. Also, when the billing was wrong and they put a 20 day hold on the account so I could send in my information, they turned off the phone even though I was in the process of getting the information to them per their instructions.

Summary: Alltel are doing everything they can now that they have been bought by Verizion to avoid paying their rebates and when making arrigements to prove payments were made, they break them too. They have no business ethics!!! We switched back to A.T. & T. and once again have a company that stands by their wordk

Totally disgusted

Pros: None

Cons: Billing for equipment
Doublebilling for charges
Contracts that aren't signed contract

Summary: I have been having a problem with my Alltel bill for months and have gotten terrible customer service. I give up. I have been billed for equipment I don't have. I have been told to go to the store - the store is not even in my town - to clear it up. Then a manager at the 800 number said he saw the store still is loaning out the equipment so I obviously didn't have it. He told me he would credit me then he didn't. Today I was told I would be credited but not credited for the taxes because those were automatic on the bill. I argued that I shoudl have never been billed for the equipment and got nowhere. I have been an Alltel customer for over 10 years but this does not seem to matter. And why doesn't Alltel have signed contracts?
