No GPhone in the works?

Unfortunately the GPhone rumor was just that - a rumor (too bad). The much anticipated GPhone from Google turns out to be just a platform for Google to test their new Linux-based mobile operating system. This is not to say that Google may produce a phone at some point in the future, but for now we are relegated to an OS and hopefully some cool apps we haven’t seen before.

Apparently Google is going after the Microsoft Windows Mobile platform consumers of the world and not iPhone users - lucky for Steve Jobs huh? Look for the OS to be available sometime in the 2008.
