Windows Mobile E-mail & Web Service

Overall Rating:
3.8 out of 5

Pros: WiFi, Bluetooth, USB Sync, and the fact its a mini pc.

Cons: Data Plan is REQUIRED when using phone. And, buttons are touchy. You'll need to lock the phone when putting it into the phone carryng case.

Summary: I just purchased this phone from US Cellular, and they said that the Windows Mobile E-mail & Web Service is REQUIRED, and you can NOT remove the data plan, unless you switch phones. The data plan is an additional $24.95 a month, and I keep telling them, I do NOT want this data plan, because the phone has built-in Wifi, Bluetooth, and USB connection (Active Sync). If I want my e-mail/Web, I'll use these other connections, which are FREE. So, Why is the Data Plan REQUIRED ??? I love this phone, and I used to have an HP iPaq, and I never had any data plan with it, and I got to the web/e-mail etc..

Pros: My Alltel service is great with this phone This phone is very easy to use. If you are a microsoft user you will love this phone. I can e-mail, text, picture text, take great photos, listen to music, add a storage card for games, pics and music. I LOVE the touch screen. When I first got the phone I felt paralyzed because I did not realize I just had to touch what I needed. It is so easy to use. The screen is big and easy to read. Voice dial is awesome. I can use the phone with one hand when

Cons: I have not found anything about this phone that would be a deal breaker. Battery life is not good but You can purchase an extended life battery which I highly recommend. If you open up a contact and dial from the contact, when you are done with the call, the contact is not closed and you can acccidently bump a button and call the person back or get into an e-mail for them. Not a deal breaker just train yourself to close the contact when finished with the call.

Summary: I would highly recommend this phone to anybody who uses e-mail alot. I went from a Razer to this phone so I had to get used to something bigger again. I wish it were smaller but I can't have everything right!

Pros: This phone can do everything that my computer and old cell phone combined.

Cons: Hard to dial with one hand (new numbers)
Sometimes I cant receive all my pic/ video texts.

Summary: This phone caused a lot of trouble with my relationship. I know that sounds really strange, but hear me out. I use it for personal and business. I use the outlook and hotmail and I text more than most people. My sister texted me a messege asking me who Sara was. I didnt know what she was talking about. Then she read this message that came to her phone as a text from my number. It was a messege that I had used hotmail to email to a girl that I was talking to around the same time I got the phone. Then a couple weeks later I had another person getting random text of emails that I had sent other people. My phone was texting random people in my phones contact list. I didnt know why but I soon there after stopped using my phone for email. Then last week my girl that I have been with for some time got a text from my phone that was part a lovey dovey text that Isent her and the other have an email from 3 months ago to some one else. OUCH!! So to anyone that has had this problem, I feel your pain.

Pros: Great PDA, Fast Connectivity, Nice MP3 Player

Cons: Klunky phone feature

Summary: I love this as a PDA and like it very much as a phone. Nice and heavy and easily upgraded to more memory. Very easy to use if you're familiar with Windows. Battery life lower if you keep your bluetooth on, so turn that baby off :-) Nice phone overall.

Perfect

Overall Rating:

Experience: 6 Months
Pros: Speed, power, flexibility, expandability, removable battery, external or touch keyboard, windows mobile 6, on and on

Cons: takes time to learn, comes stylus reliant

Summary: At first glance, you notice a touch screen phone. When you start using this device you think to yourself, "this looks cool, but really what can I do with it?" The answer is everything. Don't worry about the software and touch interface that comes standard with this device. The device, unfortunatley, comes very stylus needy. This is nothing 2 software downloads can't fix. If the ppc6800 you recieve doesn't arrive with windows mobile 6, I would upgrade imediately, due to it wiping out everything you have. Which is another great point, you can back up everything right on your pc so if you lose or damage the phone, your replacement data is ready to go. This device syncs automatically with ease--all you have to do is set it in the cradle. My fiance has an iPhone which is awesome to impress your friends. My phone actually does more at this point than the iphone ever could. The htc touch interface works on the ppc6800. It is really rare that I need to pull the stylus out of the holster with this device(but in a pinch I'm glad it has the option). With any touch device the onscreen keyboards are just not accurate or efficient. I have used palm, windows, and iPhone. With my big fingers onscreen typing isn't an option; I'm glad it has the slide-out keyboard(one of the main reasons I got it). Here is a list of things I have done with my device in the past 6 months: used outlook for email, took and printed pictures, loaded 8,500 songs, expanded memory the 8gb with micro sd, set over 3500 appointments on my pc and had them simultaneously synced, i have used this device as a router to guide two notebook pc's to the internet, made pie charts, viewed pdf's, created exel and word docs, watched streaming internet videos and television in full screen, have had the device convert half a million written words to readable text, charged this device through my computers usb port, nearly matched functionality and beat the iPhones's ability head-to-head.

The possibilities are endless with this device. My old palm treo 600 didn't hold a candle to this thing. It takes two to three weeks to learn this device, but it will save you some much time and effort in the long run. I would also like to commend alltel. Never had any service problems and signal is always great.
