![]() ppc6700 breakdownOverall Rating: By: Andrzej Dziekonski on Thursday, August 24, 2006From: Hamilton, NJ (United States) Experience: 4 Months Pros: -overclockable to 624mhz -can upto 2gb of storage with minisd -Runs on windows mobile, which as a lot of avaiable programs for it -Large, very clear, screen. Can watch movies on it with no problem. Also, touchscreen -slide out keyboard with nice blue back light. Keys give a satisfying click when typing -Pen for touchscreen inluded behind anntenna -Supports evdo -Perfect for tethering, it has no NAICons: -Internet explorer doesnt support java -A bit bulky, to thick in my opinion -It runs off windows, so it does freeze a lot and has random windows problems. -Bad key/screen lock. Phone makes phone calls accidentally while still in pocketSummary: Overall this is an great phone if you can use it's full capabilities. You can play games on it, watch movies, surf the web, everything you ever would want to. It's build in camera itsn't the best, even though it is 1.3 megapixals. Battely life is ok, it can last for about two days if I dont want any movies or shown on it. It also has great mp3 support. Comes with headphones, so just put all your favorite mp3's on the phone via minisd card or the usb cable, and just listen to em where every you want. The buildin speaker phone is a bit too quiet, it's no really loud at all, sometimes you almost have to put it up to your ear to hear. Overall, great product. 33 out of 66 people found this review helpful
Great phone, not great formOverall Rating: By: mario mejia on Wednesday, August 23, 2006From: san diego , CA (United States) Experience: 6 Months Pros: This is a very handy and useful phone. I love the WM5. EV-DOCons: Slow for the processor speed. I know someone with a PDA phone that has a 200mhz processor and is as fast as my 400mhz PPC6700. The speakerphone is worthless.Summary: Though Sprint's coverage is spotty at times I love the EVDO on the go. Using my TV tuner card from my computer and Orb software I am able to watch TV, listen to music and look at pictures streamed over the internet from my home computer to me on my phone. This was a must have for the world cup and I sure made use of it. 35 out of 62 people found this review helpful
A lot of everything, Poor sound qualityOverall Rating: By: Richard Hunsaker on Friday, August 18, 2006From: (Not Disclosed), CO (United States) Experience: 90 Days Pros: Connecting to MS Exchange or POP3 is easy. WM5 is good, but much of your old software may cause WM5 to become unstabile. Frequent reboots are minimized by firmware update.Cons: Because of my business requirements, I have tried the Verizon, Qwest, and Sprint versions. All have the same poor sound quality. If you want people to stop calling you, switch to this phone! If you want to annoy others, this is also a good phone; it is very easy to accidently redial a number (or a random number) over and over. With a lot of effort (and with firmware updates) you can make this work as a USB modem. You might be able to make it work as a Bluetooth modem. But, in a few weeks.Summary: This phone is a fine preview of where the industry is going. After 3 months, I gave up and switched to an older Motorola phone with fewer features. 41 out of 68 people found this review helpful
So So review for the 6700Overall Rating: By: Anthony Bauer on Tuesday, March 28, 2006From: Melbourne, FL (United States) Experience: 5 Days Pros: The size is great, much smaller then you would think. Surfing the web is easy and I can get to any page so far with no problems. Good applications and a great main screen that allows for you to set up upcoming appointments and to-do list. I have found navigating thru the phone easy if you take the time to learn the shortcuts. Cons: Since most people like their speakerphone function, this one is not very good. The design of the screen causes for you to have to be in just the right light to actually read anything from it. The keyboard is impossible to see in dim lights. The phone has been dying a lot and request that you reboot it. Even though I found the shortcuts for navigating, I have noticed that they don't all work. And finally, when I send a text message it doesn't save in my sent items so that I can read what I aSummary: I have had the phone for about a week and have mixed feelings so far. I really would like for the pros to out-weight the cons, but I haven't made up my mind about returning it or not yet. At least I still have a couple more days!! 26 out of 43 people found this review helpful
